Vulcan to the Sky Trust, based at Doncaster-Sheffield Airport at Finningley, just 15 miles from Clarborough, brought Avro Vulcan B.2 XH558 back to flight in 2007.

After an extensive programme of flying displays this phase of the Vulcan experience had to end in 2015 due to various engineering issues. XH558 remains, however, in ‘working order’ and continues to provide visitors with first hand - and often noisy - ground running experiences.

The Vulcan - along with Vickers Valiant and Handley Page Victor were key parts of Britain’s ‘Cold War’ nuclear deterrent through the 1950s and 60s.

Currently, the Trust is seeking contributions to raise funds to develop a Green Technology Hub which will be at the heart of the new Vulcan Experience, giving young people an insight into how scientists and engineers are tackling the climate change challenge.
