Our Community Newsletter is now an established feature of village life. Published quarterly, it is a sixteen-page, A4, ‘journal’ containing a mix of public information, articles and community group notices that is distributed free to every household in Clarborough and Welham as well as a number of local outlets, our village Primary School (for some 40+ pupils who live outside our immediate community) and also Retford (Denman) Library, Bassetlaw Action Centre as well as several other online outlets.
Finance for this initiative was, for many years, divided between our community IT Group and revenue from advertising. Recently our Parish Council has stepped in to provide a significant contribution towards the printing costs although the Newsletter remains editorially independent.
We are in urgent need of help with Newsletter distributions - no ‘patch’ is too small! Our trusty band of volunteers are sometimes really stretched, particularly at times of holidays (such as the forthcoming Autumn issue that is likely to come back from our printers in late August) or illness. If you would be prepared to help our team, please get in touch with Greg to discuss - everyone will be very grateful.
